Let's Get Personal...

Throughout my life, I have learned that our health is a true reflection of mind, body and spirit. How we feel in our day-to-day lives shows up on our plate and transfers to our overall well-being. Just like our lives and circumstances are ever-changing, so are our bodies. There is no "one size fits all" for health and diet. Balance is key - and finding that balance sometimes requires a little help. I certainly needed help along the way!

 When I was a teenager, my dad was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Along with chemo and radiation, what my dad really needed (and what my family needed, too!) was a knowledgeable and supportive guide to help him implement nutritional and health-conscious changes to go alongside his rigorous treatment to fight the cancer. 

 

After a year long battle with cancer, my dad passed in 2010. To cope with the grief of my dad's passing, I plumpeted into a long and dangerous battle with anorexia. I used my hunger to numb the pain of losing my dad, pushing away the anger and sadness that was constantly sitting inside of me. I was weak, tired, and chronically miserable.

My road to recovery was not easy. It was a long, uphill battle with many stumbles along the way. By facing my grief head-on, I was able to get to the root of my anorexia and replant a positive relationship with food and my body. I now use exercise to celebrate my body and all that it's capable of. I use food to fuel and nourish my body, helping me walk through everyday with energy and gratitude for my health.

Whatever life is throwing at you, having the tools to thrive in the midst of a busy schedule is necessary. Together, we will work to create sustainable changes in both health and fitness so you can start living your healthiest life yet!
